I am an e-commerce person, with practical experience in the setting up and marketing of online business to business and business to consumer services in the travel and publishing industries.
I help people find hotels and b&bs to stay at.

Up until quite recently I was with European Travel Services for whom I created a successful retail web presence for their discount London hotels booking service.
In 1997 I co-founded Leonardo Media Limited, a company whose investors included Intel and ABN Amro Bank. The Leonardo MediaBank e-commerce service I helped develop and market was at that time a completely new concept in travel publishing. I played a key role in the successful securing of the first and second phases of Leonardo's funding. MediaBank is now a travel industry standard, using the internet for the online distribution of travel content for use in brochures, magazines and internet sites.
Prior to this I spent four years with international publishers Reed Elsevier; setting up and developing business for their electronic travel publishing division. I was part of the team that successfully marketed electronic advertising product used by travel agents on the SABRE travel reservations system.
I was one of the pioneers of teletext on satellite television, using teletext and traditional print media to successfully run premium rate telephone promtotions and phone-in competitions on satellite and terrestrial tv.
In the days before internet, I worked with Utell International (now owned by Pegasus), the world's largest hotel reservations and marketing company. I was involved with implementing systems to distribute hotel information from hotels all over the world onto the airlines' computerised reservations systems' namely SABRE, Galileo, Amadeus, Worldspan. These systems continue to enable travel agents to book hotels and are now being used to process consumer online travel bookings over the web.
